Steve Jobs : Master inventor, master marketer

Steve Jobs, Apple Computer began with a high school friend in a garage in Silicon Valley in 1976, was forced to abandon a decade later, then returned to rescue the company. During the second stage, Apple became the most valuable technology company in the world.

Jobs masterfully invented and marketed increasingly elegant devices that transform everyday technology, from the personal computer with the iPod and iPhone. The cultivation of sensitivity and counter Apple’s minimalist design ethic, which launched a sensational product after another, even in the face of the recession in late 2000 and not their own health.

Jobs helped turn an amateur computer geek’s obsession is a necessity of modern life at work and home, and in the process not only overturned the personal technology, but the mobile phone and music.

1955: Steve Jobs was born on February 24

1972: Jobs entered Reed College in Portland, but dropped out in just 1 semester

1974: Jobs worked for Atari and video game makers often attend a meeting of the Homebrew Computer Club with Steve Wozniak, classmates

1976: Apple I-made Jobs and Wozniak sold for USD 666.66

1977: Apple started to get funding from investors. They released the Apple II, the first computer that can generate color graphics. Proceeds from sales reached approximately USD 1 million per year.

1978: Lisa, the first child born to his girlfriend Jobs, Chrissan Brennan

1980: Apple’s entry into the stock market

1982: Apple’s annual sales reach USD 1 billion

1983: Computer Lisa went on sale, but less well received and withdrawn two years later. Steve Jobs appointed John Sculley as Apple’s CEO.

1984: Macintosh Computers go on sale

1985: Jobs and Sculley dispute and led to the cessation of Jobs. Then, following a stop of Apple’s Wozniak.

1986: Jobs founded Next Inc., the company’s premium computer. He also bought Pixar from director George Lucas for USD 10 million

1993: Apple introduces the Newton, a computer hanheld. Apple was then losing USD 188 million in July and CEO Sculli replaced by Apple’s president, Michael Spindler.

1994: Apple introduces PowerMacintosh computer using the PowerPC chip developed with IBM and Motorola. Apple licensed the Mac software that can be used other vendors.

1996: Apple bought Next for USD 430 million. Splinder replaced Gil Amelio as CEO

1997: Steve Jobs returned to Apple as an advisor. One first step is to stop the Mac software licenses to other companies

1998: Apple re-recorded gains and introduced the iMac. Computer Newton was discontinued production

2000: Apple’s Jobs named CEO

2001: The iPod goes on sale and also a computer with the operating system OS X

2003: Apple released iTunes, recorded sales reach 1 million songs in first week

2004: Jobs underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer

2006: Disney to buy Pixar for USD 7.4 billion and create a richer Jobs

2007: Apple released the iPhone, which received splashy

2009: Jobs for medical leave to undergo liver transplantation. He returned to work in June.

2010: Jobs introduces the iPad which again become a phenomenal gadget

2011: Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple because it was no longer able to carry out the task

Earlier this month, Apple briefly overtook Exxon Mobil as the most valuable company in America, Apple’s stock market worth more than another company.

In employment, the company kept secret frenzied build anticipation for each of its new products. Jobs had felt the spell of what their customers wanted, and where there was demand, which mobilized a cult following to create it.

Speaking at Apple presentations, usually in faded blue jeans, sneakers and a black mock turtleneck sweater, a legion of Apple acolytes heard every word. Often boasted about the success of Apple, and then added a coda shyly – “One more thing” – before introducing his latest ambitious idea.
